Esteemed Members of the Turkish-American Society,

Dear American friends,

I have the honor of having taken up my duties as the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Miami as of January 2022.

The Consulate’s jurisdiction covers Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, as well as Puerto Rico. Following the footsteps of our previous Consuls-General, striving to provide impeccable and friendly service remains our permanent priority. I cannot help but to take this opportunity to express my excitement in being our first female Consul-General.

In the period ahead, in addition to our prime raison d’etre of consular services and protection of the interests of Turkish nationals, we will focus on economic and cultural relations with the authorities and communities of our host country and continue to emphasize mutual understanding and long-standing Turkish-American friendship within our area of jurisdiction.

To contribute to the visibility of our country as well as of our proud crescent-and-star, we are counting on you owning up this Consulate, that is your home. To this end, though long distances and challenging pandemic conditions will not always make it possible for us to enjoy together the dazzling flavor of a fresh cup of Turkish coffee, I would like to remind you that we are awaiting your valuable contribution, suggestions and support via phone, e-mail and social media, from our citizens and non-citizens alike.

In concluding, I would like to present on behalf of my colleagues at the Consulate and of myself, most sincere wishes to our citizens and friends who live in or visit our area of jurisdiction.
